  Mirza was born in Bosnia, where his family lived until the civil war forced them to immigrate to Italy and then to Germany. After years of this nomadic existence Mirza and his family landed in the United States in 1999.  
  
  His education and training in Europe focused on interior design, specifically the use of natural stone. His first job in the U.S. was with OBA, Inc., an architectural firm in Scottsdale, Arizona. While working, Mirza also attended Arizona State University, earning a degree in interior design.  In 2001, Mirza joined his father to found Tops in Stone.
  
  Bringing over 13 years of experience in the industry and a solid education in the use of natural stone, Mirza manages new product development, customer service, and project management on day-to-day basis.  His years of training in Europe offer Arizona residents a true point of difference in designing their homes.
  
  Mirza stays active in the community with charitable activities, including support of the Christian Children’s Fund, World Vision, the construction of a Bosnian Community Center of Phoenix, and aid to abused women in Bosnia. He calls Scottsdale, Arizona home and in his free time enjoys basketball, golf and soccer.

  Amidst the rubble of post-war Sarajevo, Faruk was forced to flee his home in search of rebuilding his life. Faruk ran his father’s stone company from 1981 until 1992, when civil war destroyed both his country and his business. With a brief stop in Italy, where he worked as a tile installer for six months, Faruk landed in Germany in 1993 and opened a small tile company. 
  
  In 1999, he moved his family to the United States, and two years later founded Tops in Stone with his son. Bringing over 34 years of experience in the industry and a true passion for natural stone, Faruk oversees quality control and human resources for the company on a day-to-day basis.  His training in Europe offers a unique approach to stone installation for Arizona residents.
  
  Faruk received a degree in engineering in 1980 from the University of Sarajevo. He now lives in Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife.  Their children, a son and daughter, also call the Valley home. In his free time, he enjoys running and both playing and watching soccer.
